To play in a Narrabeen team, you must be registered with our club which in turn registers you with the Manly Warringah Football Association (MWFA). All new players require proof of age (copy of birth certificate or passport). U11 upwards need to have their photo taken for their player cards. If registering online please e-mail a passport size photo to the club’s Registrar (details on website).
U/9, U/10 & WU/11 players will require proof of age (copy of birth certificate or passport) for the MWFA. So please provide a copy to the registrar direct at email@example.com or bring one along to information day.
Insurance is included in the registration fees – details provided separately. For students playing in U21, AL or PL teams there is a difference in registration fees due to varying insurance coverage. Players registering as students in senior teams must produce evidence of student status. These players will NOT be covered for loss of earnings should they incur an injury.
Uniform and Equipment
Playing shirts are supplied by the club in a team kit bag with a first aid kit, match ball & training balls. The shirts can be kept by the players, so you are welcome to personalise them with names or captions. All players need to buy their shorts and socks which are available on info days or at the canteen on specified days. All players must wear shin pads at training and games. All players should have their own ball to bring to training. Footballs come in various sizes – size 3 is used for U6 to U9, size 4 is used for U10 to U13 and size 5 (full size) is used for U14 and older.
Playing fields are located from Avalon to Mosman and Forestville in the west. Our home fields are in Boondah Road, Warriewood and at Narrabeen Sports High School. Most home games will be at these fields, but please note that this may not always be the case.
U/18 Div 1 for mixed and women’s play Friday evenings. U/6 to U/16 mixed teams play on Saturday mornings (up to 1pm). Senior Men’s teams play mostly on Saturday afternoons, while Girls & Women play on Sundays. All playing times are determined by MWFA.
Managers, Coaches, Referees and Parents
All teams, regardless of grade, are required to have two officials registered and issued with an MWFA registration card, which must be worn to all games. Typically this would be one Manager and Coach. For all U6 to U9 (Mini Roos/Sub Junior) teams this must be organised before or on team announcement day. All senior teams will require at least one manager or coach to be registered who is NOT A PLAYER before the season commences. All managers and coaches for ALL GRADES are required to register (no cost), provide a digital photo and provide their Working With Children number. All teams from ages 6 to 9 and men’s senior teams are also required to appoint at least one team referee (two in the case of U6-U7 playing Small Sided Games and senior men’s) and attend the MWFA referees instruction evening. Please note that if there are no volunteers for these positions the team cannot function and the club will not register the team. All parents are expected to perform volunteer work throughout the season (canteen & field duty) and all Managers are encouraged to attend at any requested meetings to ensure that they can communicate current information to their team members.
Announcement day will be communicated on the website/social media in March. Please note that age groups in the mixed competition (Saturday) for U6, U7, U8, U9 and U10 must attend in person. Managers and coaches are agreed by the teams at the announcement day.
Player/Team Grading Days
Grading days unless advised otherwise will be held for U11-U16s and W12-W16 and are: Grading will at Boondah fields – assembly at the Canteen. Please check our website and social media channels for more information closer to the time.
