New Players You must be registered with our club which in turn registers you with the Manly Warringah Football Association (MWFA). All new players require proof of age (copy of birth certificate or passport) & U/10 upwards a passport size photo is also required for player cards. Returning players for U/10, U/13 and U/16 will need a new passport size photo. U/10 players also require proof of age (copy of birth certificate or passport) for the MWFA. Insurance You will receive a copy of the insurance information sheet for 2009 at registration. This sheet outlines the breadth of coverage and what you should do in the case of an injury. Please note that the difference in registration fees for students and non-students is due to varying insurance coverage. Players registering as students in senior teams must produce evidence of student status. These players will NOT be covered for any loss in wages should they incur an injury. Uniform and Equipment Playing shirts are supplied by the club in a team kit bag with a first aid kit, match ball & training balls. These kits are on loan only for the season and must be returned at the end of season. Each team is responsible for washing of the shirts each week and prior to returning them at the end of the season neatly folded. All players must buy their shorts & socks which are available on rego days or at the canteen on specified days. All players must wear shin pads at training and games. All players should have their own ball to bring to training. Footballs come in various sizes – size 3 is used for U/6 to U/8, size 4 is used for U/9 to U/13 and size 5 (full size) is used for U/14 and older. Playing fields are located from Avalon to Mosman and Forestville in the west. Our home fields are in Boondah Road Warriewood. Most home games will be at Boondah but please note that this may not always be the case. Playing Times U/6 to U/15 mixed teams play on Saturday mornings (up to 1pm), U/16 and older play on Saturday afternoons while women & girls play on Sundays. Some Senior matches may also be scheduled for Sundays. Managers, Coaches, Referees and Parents Managers and coaches for all teams must be organised before or on team announcement day for U/6s to U/8s & grading days for U/9 and older. All teams from ages 6 top 9 are also required to appoint at least one team referee and attend the MWFA referees instruction evening. Please note that if there are no volunteers for these positions the team cannot function and the club will not register the team. All parents are expected to perform volunteer work throughout the season (canteen & field duty) and all Managers are expected to attend the monthly committee meetings to ensure that they can communicate current information to their team members. All Registration Fees include a bond ($10 for Juniors & Sub Juniors and $40 for Seniors). This will be returned at the end of the season unless the team is in default (non return of complete kit, failure to perform canteen / field duties / non attendance at Committee Meetings). Training days/times, trial matches etc can only be organised once the manager(s) and coach(s) have been determined for each team AND all managers/coaches have signed Child Protection Act forms (return to Registrar). The MWFA generally run Junior Licence coaching courses prior to each season. If you are interested please monitor our website for details Sub-Junior Team Announcement Day For all U/6, U/7 and U/8 teams – Saturday 1st March , 3pm, at Boondah Fields. We may use the Hall if available. Player/Team Grading Days Under 9 Sat 21st Feb 4.00- 6.00pm Under 10 Sun 22nd Feb 3.00 – 5.00pm Under 11 Sat 28th Feb 3.00 – 4.30pm Under 12 Sat 28th Feb 4.30 – 6.00pm Under 13 Sat 28th Feb 6.00 – 7.00pm Training Days and Times This is determined by the coach/manager and players/parents. Please advise your preferred day & time to the Secretary to confirm availability. Competition Dates Sub Junior, Junior and Senior Matches start on 4th April, and Ladies Division starts on 5th April. The season ends in August with finals held in August / September for age 10 and up .A match schedule (dates, times and fields) will be made available by the MWFA in late March.
