MEMBER PROTECTION
INFORMATION
Member Protection
encompasses issues relative to Harassment, Discrimination, Racial Vilification,
Child Protection and other forms of inappropriate behaviour.
MEMBER PROTECTION
OFFICER
All clubs and associations within the structure of Soccer NSW have an identified
Member Protection Officer.
The role of the
MPO is to listen and provide support and options to persons who have concerns
in relation to member protection. The MPO may provide information to players,
parents, coaches, managers, trainers and club officials.
MEMBER PROTECTION
ISSUES
All matters relating to Member Protection are encouraged to be resolved at local
level where possible. Member protection issues should only be brought to a higher
level when it can be shown that all avenues at local level have been exhausted
or where the matter is of a serious nature.
Where a serious
incident is reported such as sexual abuse, sexual harassment, physical abuse
or physical assault, the parties involved should give serious consideration
to notifying the Police. Additionally, the President or Secretary of the Club
or Association should be notified immediately to allow action to be taken to
remove the risk and reduce the likelihood of a similar incident possibly occurring.
