Great News! We have now received the official notice that Community Football has been given the go ahead to return to training!!
Firstly, a massive thank you to all of our members for your patience and understanding over the past few weeks.. We are all super keen to get back on the park and the full cooperation of all involved in conducting the return to training within the specified guidelines will go a long way towards returning to competition in the near future. That being said, there is to be no training this weekend. The Club needs the next few days to fulfil a few requirements with MWFA however we are optimistic that teams will be back training from early next week.
All registered members were emailed this afternoon with all the documents that have been adopted by the Office of Sport which outlines the return to training guidelines. Please take the time to read and understand these. If you are unsure about anything, please liaise with your relevant age group coordinator and they can escalate your enquiry if required.
The Executive Committee is currently working on a training schedule that has the least amount of impact on teams and their preferred training day/time however we must work within the guidelines of the return to training plan and provide the safest environment possible for our members. As many of you are well aware, some of our allocated fields are not adequately lit to accommodate training safely at night and the guidelines have a strict limit on how many persons can occupy allocated training spaces so this is a bit of a juggle for a rapidly growing club. Of course we cannot therefore ensure that everyone will be training on their preferred day or at their preferred time however as we move towards further easing of restrictions, further flexibility on training numbers and spaces will come into play.
Please remember that any competition this year will be more about community life returning to some sort of normality and less about championships and winning games. “Playing to play” as it were… The most important message going forward is to follow the guidelines, remember social distancing rules, practice good hygiene, stay home if you’re feeling unwell and most of all enjoy training, playing and watching the game we all love!
