Grading Schedule

Hi NFC members,

Welcome to the NFC 2017 Season.

I have taken on the role of Grading Co-ordinator again for 2017.  Once again teams will be graded from the age group of under 9's and upwards.

With the under 8's moving up there will be what we call 'soft grading' so as to establish several strong teams.  The reason for grading young players is to coincide with the Manly Warringah Football Association's soft grading so that strong teams from each Club play against each other and not against mis-matched teams, thus avoiding unpleasant scores.  Remaining players and teams (some of whom would like to stay together) are graded appropriately in different strength categories.  Please ensure you fill out the friend requests when you register.

Along with some of our previous year's volunteer graders, we are also very fortunate to have the assistance of Luca Balestrazzi from the NFC Academy volunteering his help with grading this year.  Luca has vast experience with player assessment.

We will be conducting 2 grading/trial days for each age group.  The first on the Sunday will be a player skills assessment and then a mid-week trial game to evaluate player's understanding and performance in a game environment.  Trial games will be played on the field size they will be playing on in 2017.

Please note ladies teams will be graded amongst ladies teams only.  Due to numbers it is unnecessary to grade girls 9 to 11 years.

Listed below are the dates and times for the age group you will be in for 2017:

SKILLS ASSESSMENT
Sunday 5 Feb - Boondah 1

U9s - 10am - 12pm

U10s - 12.30 - 2.30pm

U11s - 2.30 - 4.30pm

Sunday 12 Feb - Boondah 1

U12s (mixed and ladies) - 10am - 12pm

U13s (mixed only) - 12.30 - 2pm

U14s (mixed and ladies) - 2.30 - 4pm

U15s & U16s (mixed and ladies) - 4 - 5.30pm

MID-WEEK TRIALS

Tuesday 7th Feb 2017 (Narrabeen Sports High School)

4.30 to 6.30pm - Under 9's

Thursday 9th Feb 2017 (Narrabeen Sports High School)

4.30 to 5.30pm - Under 10's

5.30 to 6.30pm - Under 11's

Tuesday 14th Feb 2017 (Narrabeen Sports High School)

4.30 to 6.30pm - Under 12's

Thursday 16th Feb 2017 (Narrabeen Sports High School)

4.30 to 5.30pm - Under 13's

5.30 to 6.30pm - Under 14's

This process is vital particularly for age groups 9's to 12's to ensure that ALL players can be placed in the most appropriate team.  It will be very difficult to place your child in the most appropriate team if we cannot view their skills at both sessions.  Also, once teams are established according to ability of individual players, teams then need to be placed in their correct divisions within the MWFA.

If you require any further information I will be available at the Club's Information Day on 28th January at Ted Blackwood Hall.

Regards,

Leo Hokke
